Consider a custom application when a workflow crosses several tools, approvals depend on information held by different teams, or an existing product cannot express your business rules. Start with one complete workflow rather than a list of unrelated screens.
Deliverables to agree before building
A scoped engagement can include a workflow map, application architecture, data model, working interfaces, APIs, acceptance checks and handover documentation. Agree the deployment environment and source-code ownership alongside the feature scope.
Connecting existing systems
Identify the systems of record, available APIs, authentication requirements and data owners. Imports, webhooks and scheduled synchronization need validation, duplicate handling and recovery paths. Integration scope depends on the access and interfaces available.
